Picturing music...

Some days ago... was it on friday morning... I saw one of my favourite poets, Heli Laaksonen on tv... she read one of her new poems (lovely as always), and after reading it she said something like: "so, this is how I wrote my picture" ! It sounds so simple when you hear it from someone as talented as she is , and I think it's close to the way I compose my music and write the lyrics. Usually I have a "vision" - "a picture" that turns into music and lyrics but what I'm learning now is to make it the OPPOSITE way... hehe... it may sound easy but I can tell you it's NOT! Yes, yes, I hear somebody say:"Why doesn't he just paint the picture before composing or writing"... errgghh... well that's not what I mean... imagine that you could take a PHOTO of your music...
getting too complicated, yes?.... well I can't help it but it would be great to visualize my thoughts and the tunes in my head as a photo or digital art image.
Here's an example: The street where I work ends to the harbour.. when walking to the office I often have some melody developing in my mind and I try to imagine how would it look AND SOUND (yup yup ) if there was a forest and some hills at the end of that street. Maybe I should play with some photos to find out, yes?
